Horses Helping Heal

Horses have a positive & powerful influence for people to help overcome fears & build confidence through accomplishing tasks with the horses.  Horses in this program help people to find solutions in dealing with challenging situations in their lives.

Horses play the most important role in Equine Psychotherapy; they do not judge or have any preconceived thoughts of why the people are there. Horses are in the here and now and are truly honest in emotion and the freedom to act naturally. They are intuitive and are experts in reading body-language and non-verbal signals.

Activities with horses have been beneficial in the working with: Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Grief and Loss, Conduct Disorders, Attachment Disorder, and other issues in people's lives.

EAP (Equine Assisted Psychotherapy) & EAL (Equine Assisted Learning) following the Eagala Model.

Can help clients with: Self-Esteem, Confidence, Communication, Creative Problem Solving, Social Skills, Team Building and more.

Horse Helping Heal Story

I really like helping people and I know how much my horses have had an impact on my life. Some of the horses I bred, bought or given by their owners, who wanted their old horse to keep living their best retired lives. As I've known most of these horses for over 10yrs from coaching at pony club, I felt they would make a great fit for equine therapy.

I was introducing to the team approach of therapy of having a mental health professional and a horse trainer with horses to help people in the community. The MH looks after the clinical side of therapy, and I look after the safety side of the clients and horses in activities.
